The Opportunity:
This project involves the construction of 21.5km of single carriageway road (7.3m wide) with 1m wide hard strips and 2.5m wide verges between existing A47 at Eye (Cambridgeshire) to Spalding (Lincolnshire).
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be shadowing the Senior Quantity Surveyor, assisting mainly in the commercial management of the project and to administer; measure and value elements of the project.
• Assisting in achieving the appropriate commercial result
• Supporting the use of systems to provide the information necessary to manage the contract
• Procurement and control of various subcontract packages from enquiry through to final account
• Measurement and re-measurement of the project works
• Authorisation and issuing of payment certificates
• Taking off quantities from construction drawings
• Preparation of Bills of Quantities
