The Opportunity:
This project involves the construction of 21.5km of single carriageway road (7.3m wide) with 1m wide hard strips and 2.5m wide verges between existing A47 at Eye (Cambridgeshire) to Spalding (Lincolnshire).
As Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for the preparation of commercial information for the site team necessary to achieve commercial success and implement the appropriate tasks stemming from this. Main priority is to make sure that projects meet legal and quality standards, and that clients get good value for moneyPlanning and programming production resources relevant to your work area
• Contributing to achieving the appropriate commercial result
• Operating the systems that are in place to provide the information necessary to manage the contract
• Securing full entitlements under the contract
• Providing support to the site team on contract requirements
• Achieves the appropriate commercial result
• Ensures that the systems that are in place are operated efficiently and that information is produced accurately and on time
• Advise site team of the contract requirements
• Civils related sub contract pre tender documentation.
• Tender negotiation and critical evaluation
• Document writing, commercial letters and agreements all preferably related to NEC type documentation
• Commercial site management of sub contractors, including the monthly measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations
• Assessing the financial costs of new environmental guidelines, for example, the use of sustainable overseas timber supplies.
