Brief Description
One of the largest CTRL construction contracts on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link to date with a very wide variety of design and construction challenges. A major management challenge to overcome environmental and live railway constraints as well as the approvals processes associated with the railway and multiple third party organisations. Above ground route of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (Phase 2) between London tunnels at Dagenham and Thames tunnel Thurrock. Comprises approximately 13km of route and includes the design and construction of three viaducts and railway works and construction only of all other works. Demolition of all structures and buildings along the route, 45 new structures including 2.3km of viaduct and 7km piled slab, associated roadworks and utilities diversions, diversion of existing Ford and Hanson sidings and provision of CTRL exchange sidings.
